The door of this cabinet was designed during LGBTQIA+ history month, February 2026. In the wood machining course, we had to keep the design of the cabinet carcass, but could redesign the door as we wished. It is the most complex piece of furniture I have ever made, requiring me to combine all manner of techniques. The circular lipping holding in the Sevillarte 1920s plate was steam bent; the smaller circles holding in the marquetry is laminated. All marquetry in the cabinet is hand cut with a scalpel. During the end of year show of my college, in June 2026 (coincidentally pride month) it won best in show. I am very proud of it.
