Bay and rose wood
This vessel was turned on a lathe from ‘green’ or newly cut bay and echoes the shape of an opening flower. The bark left intact around the top edge. A ring tool was used to hollow it out and leave thin sides that are between 3-4mm thick. Once the vessel was dry a rosewood base made from seasoned wood was turned and added.
